1997-11-24 CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JOINT PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTES17 MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON NOVEMBER 24,1997,6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. Mathis Others in attendance: Project Coordinator Alan Mueller; City Engineer John Hargrove; Planning and Development Director Dennis Smith; Project Specialist Ruby Perez, Assistant City Attorney Darrin Coker; and P&Z Secretary Judy Highburger. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing was read into the record by Chairman Pat Lopez. PURPOSE OF HEARING - ZONING APPLICATION NO. 233 Request of Mr. Alan Eddy, owner, for an amendment to the Land Use and Urban Development Ordinance of said City from Classification Suburban Development (SD) to Single Family Residential (R -i) on the following described property, to -wit: Lot 6, Block 2 of Skyway Manor Subdivision, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 7, pg 67 of the Plat Records of Brazoria County, Texas (2824 Piper Road). Director of Planning arid Development Dennis Smith, presented the location of the proposed zone change. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST Mr. Alan Eddy, 2824 Piper Road, spoke in favor of the request. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST None. COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION/STAFF DISCUSSION None. ADJOURNMENT The joint public hearing adjourned at 6:38 p.m. APPLICATION NO. 236. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:39 p.m. 11. PURPOSE OF HEARING - The purpose of the hearing was read into the record by Chairman Pat Lopez. Zoning Application No. 236 Request of owners for an amendment to the Land Use and Urban Development Ordinance of said City from Classification Suburban Development (SD) to General Business (GB) on the following described property, to -wit: Lots 1 & 2, of Skyway Manor Subdivision, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 7, Pg 67 of the Plat Records of Brazoria County, TX (F.M. 518 and Piper Road) Director of Planning and Development Dennis Smith, presented the location of the proposed zone change. III. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST None. IV. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST None. V. COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION/STAFF DISCUSSION None. VI.
