1963-07-30 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESPEARLAND CITY COUNCIL REE TING (SPECIAL) JULY 30, 1963 A special meetinfr of the P earland City Counci 1 was called Ift order by Mayor Gibbons at 7:30 P. T_tf. in the Pearlard Bank Building with the following city officials and guests in attendance: Mayor - E. T. Gibbons Aldermen- Victor A. Nolen, John Kegley, P-ne E. Sanders Tom Alexander, David L. Smith Guest - R. E. Wright, Paul F. Ferguson, Lloyd J. Yost W1..1 liam C. Walsh, I+dayor Gibbons explained that the special meeting was called for the purpose of discussing Sleepy Hollow Subdivision and the plans of the developers. Mr. Ferguson elaborated upon the members of the group and their desires to build a first class subdivision. He indicated they are considering forming their own water district.9 with permission of the city council. The following cost estimate was provided for installing t% water ani sewerage facilities. Sewerage plant 124,500.00; well and water plant $28,000.00; sewerage piping $56,000.00; water piping $63,000.00 capacity for 450 homes. After a lengthy discussion on the subject a motion was made by Gene E. Sanders that hir. Ferguson and IJ_r. R. E. b"frir-ht be pei;nitted to file a permit with the State Mater Comrission to form a water district vrithin the city of Pearl and on aooroximately 106 acres of 1". D. C. This Met Urith the concurrence of the developers of the proposed subdivision. Kayor Gibbons instructed the subdividers to meet back with the council in two ,,reeks to discuss the matter further.
