A regular meeting of the Per land CitYY Council was called to order
Auf ust 1, 1963 in the Pearland Bank t'ui ldi-ng by Mayor Pro -tem John

The minutes of the regular meeting of July 18� 1963 were read and
approved.
The street and bridge committee reported that the county engineer has re-
viewed the right of way problem_ for 1V`ykai,,ra Road: Tris problem Tall be
pursued,:' further .after the road -bond issue has been resolved.

Aldermen Nolen reported that work is progress ing-',on the new car equipment
and a report will be presented at the next regular meeting.
Chief Hall presented a detailed report on activity of the police
department during the month of July.
Mr. Kegley -read a letter from the State Highway Department regarding
.speeds on state highways within the city.
kix, Kegley appointed a cornitted of To:,n Alexarder, -David L. Smith
and Cheif of Foli ce, Hall to investigate this problem.
A motionwas made by Tom Alexander aril seconded by David L. Smith
that C ief lliall.'s salary be increased to $450.00 per month effective
August 1, 1963, All Aldermen voted "Aye" with no "Noes".
It was reported that Griffin Brothers have paid their $25.00 yearly permit
fee to serve the city as a garbage collector. This renews their permit
to August 1, 1964.
A letter was read from Partin Insurance Company regarding ex -city
policemen Chuck Eason on his insurance policy. klr. Nartin indicated
the city insurance coverage on MT Eason has been cancelled.
It was reported that Westmirnister Subdivision. bond in the a -mount of
$20,000.00 has been received and is fildd in t he city, saX'e J
Yr. Tom Alexander requested that the c ity attorney ins.p? ct.:the bond.
I�r. John` Kegley reported that the following funds ar.e:on hand _in "the"
street paving savings account in .the amount of $3,10_4:01-
PT.r. R. J. Marshall of Brookside Village re cue sted a- permit `to era`e a
taxi in.Pearlard. A request was made by Tom Alex ander`thaat,.thd city
attorney be instructedto prepare a taxi ordinance for'Ai,6'city.,.of
Pearland.
The right of way of Dixie Farm Road was discussed and the crossing across
Clear Creek. I -t was agreed that the street and 'bri dge committee would- meet
with the county.engineer to discuss this crossing.
The road bond issue was discussed and it was agreed that additional work has t
be done before filing a petition for eldetion.
A motion was made by Tom Ale:xand'er that $500.00 be authorized for the street
and bridge committee to mow city streets. and right of b=ray. Nioti on seconded
by Gere Sanders. All Aldermen voted "Aye" with no "Noes".
Alderman Nolen presented a plat to the council for Mr. Little proposing
dedicating Linwood Drive in Track L of Zychlenski Subdivision .as a
1ublic street. After due discussion the city attorrey-iias instructed to
contact bir. Little and suggest that he have his engineer and the
city engineer get together and resolve the difference on the plat to meet
city requirements.
