A regular meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order
by Yayor Gibbons at 7:30 P. I0. in the Pearland Hank Building with the
following city officials and guests in attendance. -

The minutes of the special meeting of September 11, 1963, regular meeting
of September 19: 1963 and special meeting of September 23, 1963 were
read, corrected- and approved.
hr. David Smi th reported that -work is in progress on opening the alley
behind the roost office.
Alderman Gene Sanders reported for the Street and Bridge Committee
that hlykawa itoad vras deteriating rapidly and action should be taken
to resolve tris problem.
A -roti on was made by John Kegley, seconded by Tom Alexander that 14r.

�.r. J. E. Little next presented his problem concerning dedicating a
road betnween his and i,.rr. ff' . E. Parker'. s land. ., He explained that his
original street work was constructed under previsi.,ons of the CLby of
Pearland load Ordine-nce at the time, _but he had not filed a plat because
he was selling his property by '\meets and trmnds and not'subdividing.
The pr-oblems involved in this i1tter vvith regard, to the city require-
ments tivsere discussed at length by the council members.
A motion was mace by Gene Sanders _that when a prel-iminary plat is filed
by 1.4'r. Little fulfilling all -the' requirements of the subdivision
ordinance except class 'B'I .streets will be permitted in place of class
"A." streets between Galveston Avenue and the Old Alvin re -Ad and between
Orange street and Plum Street, the city will approve Mr. J. E. Little's
subdivision plat. Ivotion seconded by D. L. Sinith. All Aldermen voted
"Aye" with no "floes".
i:r. i"Ta.ling presented his plat of Longwood -Park to discuss Hew city
requirements so that he can proceed with development of his subdivision.
He ;+Has instructed to review the new ordinance ana--comply vaith:its provision
A motion was made by Tom Alexander and seconded- by --,John Iie0 ley that
Lloyd Yost, Frank Lee.and the Pearland Lions Club,be;granted permits

Texas as per terms of the Ordinance. All A ldernier_ voted"IlAye" vaith
no "Noes".
h',r. Adams presented his preliminary plat of Horseshoe -Bend. Sub-
division for council discussion. He was instructed to correct l -:is plot
to meet subdivision Ordinance requirements and present ti back to the
council for their consideration.

h:r. Plyler presented his problem regarding title for the ditch along
Orange Str,-et in front of his land. IIe rias referred to the Drainage
District for consultation_ on size of tile required.
?`ayor Gibbons next presented a proposed speed zone Ordinance as
requested by t; -,e State IIi ,1i::a �T Department. V. A. I' Olen ri_oved that the
new speed survey be referred to ti':e Speed Cor_rr:ittee for t�..eir
review. 1':'.ayor Gibbons stated the Coilmdttee J>ill loe so advised.

Mayor `iibbors next discussed the activity of the committee that met
with the ","ater toard.

A substitute motion was offered by Gene carriers for the City to
place the money in escrow for the officer. This died for lack of
second.
