A special meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:30 P. h..
October 30, 1963 by :Mayor Gibbons in the Pearland Bank Building with the
following City officials art Guests in Attendance -

the telephone problem, storm seiiTerage subdivision and water and -sev,era e
designs for the future developn-:ent.
Alderman Tom Alexander e_vnlained that many of our business people are
complaining about the strai-ht line telep
hone fees and stated that with
the rapid gro%r th of the area telephone service is in urgent need to
encourage industry for the area.
After a lengthy discu:-s ior_ _Yr. Ege ex-olained that they would n.ot be in
a position to give a firm date u#til I:rarch 1964. He also expressed
synpothy rdth our nrobleri.
=� motion made by Top1 Alexaider that the city proceed with right -of way
plan for drainage of area west of Austin add hlyka-Lva Road to drain into
clear 'Creek. 1'`otion seconded '-,y V. A. Tfolen. All Aldermen voted -"Aye"
with no "Noes".
i;ayor Gibbons appointed J . A. Tdolen, To. -i- Alexanc:er to ,nTork with hire on
the right-of-way problems.
It was agreed that :,r. 1'Talsh should be instructed to proceed immediately
ti^:ith completion of design of zone 1 for long range water and sewerage.
The financing will be checked for previous authorization9 and funds in
the aurouxit of $19000.00 will be set aside for this work.
