I'.`'. by May or Gibbons in the Pearland Bank Building with the following lio^ing • city officials and guests in attendance: Mayor - E. T. Gibbons Aldermen- Victor A. Nolen, Tom Alexander, David L. Smith, , Gene E. Sanders, John Kegley Attorney- Jack. Harrison Guest - Cloyd Young,Larry Loessine, H. Wilson Engineer- Wi l li am C. Wals h Mayor Gibbons requested reports from the various outstanding committees. • The Street and Bridge committee reported that Brown Root has been contact regarding the torn up street in Mimose Subdivision. The minutes of the meeting of January 2, 1964 were read and approved. • Mayor Gibbons next reported that the district attorney has asked for dismissal of the suit against 11,r. Bramlett for fencing off Sacramento Street. A motion was made by Gene Sanders that the City Attorney be, instructed. to proceed with legal action to determine the ownership of the land in question between Pear Street and the G. C 63 S. F. Railroad and being fenced by Mr. Emmett Bramlett. Motion Seconded by Tom Alexander. A motion was made by D. L. Smith that the Gas Company be invited to appear before the council to discuss the rate increase. Motion seconded by Gene Sanders. All Aldermen voted "Aye" Wit h no "Noes" • Mr. H'Halsh was instructed to work with Mr. Harrison on the Sacramento• Street Problem. Mr. Loessine presented his plot of Lot 6 A. R. G. C. H. C. S. 0 Subdivision, H. T. B. R. R. Company Survey, Abstract 232. A moti on,;as made by V. A.. Nolen that the preliminary plat of the subdivision be, accepted with minimum building lire recurp of 60 *Grin 3 efic.w the. cul-de-sacs to provide a minimum of 50 flet bun tins line s,, oeconcrrond D. L. Smith. All Aldermen voted "lye" with no "Noes'm .Mayor Gibbons next introduced 3,:r. Young and asked him to discuss his , problem of the water district formed outside of the.city and the resent annexation' of the territory by the city of Pearland. A lenghty discussion evolved on the intent of the city to serve all the of the city as quickly as possible. Mr. Young was assured of the city's desires to serve him. • lr. Harrison pointed out the dis-advantages of dual taxation which will exist with the city and the new district taxing. Mr. V:.alsh discussed the engineering being done. to solve the over all problem of water and sewerage. Mayor Gibbons next discussed the need to schedule the city election for April 7, 1964 and proceed with ,calling the election. Meeting adjourned at 11:00 P. M.
