UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A far-ranging discussion ensued concerning the immediate need for library
expansion. The library has reached capacity and needs to follow the original
plan and expand out toward Liberty Dr. Construction costs would be approximately
$65.00 per sq.ft. for new construction and $12.00 per sq.ft. for furnishings.
According to Steve Brown total costs would probably not exceed 700,00 - 750,000.
The addition would be 7,742 sq.ft., bringing the library's total size to 19,408 sq.ft.
The workroom would have to be enlarged, but all else would be new public space.
Tom Reid will study the background and advise the board on what steps to take.
Next meeting will be Nov 15 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourn d t 9:30 p.m.
