DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD, OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1996 AT 4:00 P.M., IN THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND,
TEXAS.
I. The meeting was called to order at 4:02 p.m. with the following present:

Also in attendance: Asst. City Manager Richard Burdine, City Engineer John
Hargrove, City Attorney Amy Motes McCullough, and City Councilmember Helen
Beckman.

II. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes August 5, 1996 - Vice President Tricia
Holland made the motion, seconded by Secretary Susan Lenamon to approve the
minutes as presented.
Motion Passed: 7 to 0
III. Board Member Reports - Board member Bill Berger gave a positive report
regarding the Bankers Luncheon he attended on September 12, 1996 stating he
was encouraged by the willingness and eagerness by all bankers to participate with
the city to help bring new business in.
Secretary Susan Lenamon reported on the Education Task Force meetings she has
been attending stating all was going well. She also complimented Marketing &
Special Events Coordinator Terrie Morgan on the great job she has done on the
Salute To Industry event scheduled for September 18, 1996.
Vice President Tricia Holland commented on the Salute To Industry and reported
on the trip to Houston City Hall regarding the proclamation for Salute To Industry
Week meeting with Congressman Rob Todd.
Board member Connie Beaumont also commented on the Bankers' Luncheon
stating she was pleased at how informative it had been. She also reported on the
tours to Powell Industries and Flight Safety she had attended earlier in the day
stating she had enjoyed them and now appreciated the airline pilots more and had
a better understanding of what these industries were all about.
Board member Bob Lewis reported on the Kemlon press announcement he had
attended on August 6, 1996 stating he believed it was a great company to bring to
Pearland and saw it as a great accomplishment. He also added that he had enjoyed
having an opportunity to meet four generations of the Ring family that day.
IV. Executive Director & Staff Report - The staff each gave detailed reports
including meeting with the Tax Abatement Review Committee, an update report
on 1995-1996 prospects, and the upcoming Salute To Industry.
V.
A. Public Relations agencies, advertising campaign and logo -_Secretary
Susan Lenamon made the motion, seconded by Vice President Tricia Holland to
authorize Executive Director Glen Erwin to negotiate with Public Relations
agencies, an advertising campaign and revise the PEDC logo.
Motion Passed: 7 to 0
B. Economic Impact Analyses - After discussion, Secretary Susan Lenamon
made the motion, seconded by board member Stella Roberts to authorize
Executive Director Glen Erwin to research the application of economic impact
analyses and review possible providers.
Motion Passed: 7 to 0
C. City Map - After discussion, board member Stella Roberts made the motion,
seconded by Board member Connie Beaumont to review the agreement concerning
the City Map and instruct Executive Director to take appropriate action including
funding an additional $6,200.00, cost if necessary, up to $9,200.00.
Motion Passed: 7 to 0
VI. ADJOURNMENT
Secretary Susan Lenamon made the motion, seconded by Board Member Bob
Lewis to adjourn the meeting.
Motion Passed: 7-0
