MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF PEARLAND, TEXAS HELD NOVEMBER2, 1961
The regular meeting of the PearLand City Council was called to
order November 2, .1961 at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Gibbons in the City Ha LL
with the following officials and guests in attendance:

The minutes of the meetings of October 19 and 24 were read,
corrected and approved.
Alderman Nolen reported that Mr. Marvel with the Highway De-
partment stated the •street Lights at 518 and 35 would be installed immediately.
Peddlers signs will have to be provided by the City and no parking signs along
the State Highways will be provided by the State if they need the protection and
the City will furnish signs if protection is desired by the City.
The Street and Bridge Department reported signs,witl�bq in- .,•
stalled during the next two weeks.
Mayor Gibbons next discussed the moving of old_houses fo—nebv
Locatations within the City of PearLand and the existing violators --of, Ordinank e
#43 regarding sanitation.
After due discussion regarding moving of buildings' -ori -city
Streets it was agreed that Mayor Gibbons should request the City Attgrngy"
to prepare an ordinance to cover moving large objects or unusually shaped
objects on city strebts.
A motion was made by Alderman Alexander and seconded by
Alderman Hawkins that the Telephone Company be advised that the proposed
installation of underground cable from Galveston Avenue to Regency Park
Subdivision will be acceptable to the City of Pea rLand for a fee of $1.00 per
foot for right of way with telephone compagy Liable for replacing all damaged
streets and drive ways and other private and public facilities. ALL Aldermen
voted "AYE" with no "NOES",

Alderman Hawkins tendered his resignation as City Councilman
F to accept a position on the Water District board. ALL Aldermen voted to
accept his resignation since that conforms with Mr. Hawkins wishes.
Mayor Gibbons appointed a special Committee of Alderman Nolen,
Alexander and himself to deveLope city policies with regard to City employees.
Chief of Police M. W. Robertson suggested that the minimun on the
tickets to be $35.00 instead of the existing $10.00 for running a red Light.
This should be considered on the next ticket printing.
A motion was made by Mr V. A. Nolen and seconded by Alderman Parker
that the following outstanding bills be paid:
