1961-10-24 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESr MINUTES OF THE PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD C(C:T_OBER 24, 1961 IN THE CITY HALL The special meeting of the PearLand City Council was called t o order by Mayor Gibbons at 7:00 P. M. October 24, 1961 in the City Halt with the following guests and officials in attendance: Mayor E. T. Gibbons Aldermen Tom Alexander, L. C. Hawkins W. E. Parker and Victor A. Nolen Guests L. B. McCune, Santa Fe A. N. Wade, Santa Fe Railroad Mayor Gibbons opened the meeting for the purpose of discussing the railroad problems of mutual interest to the City. Mr. Wade discussed the possibility of adding an additional railroad crossingtax>tbDexsxaxsimg at Orange Street. The Railroad Company estimated the cost for the crossing would be $51, 600.00 Engineering Grading Drainage Structure Street pavement Raise<sidding tract Adjust "lines (Comm) Install Sectional Planking Install flashing signal lights including additives (15,715 Add for Contingencies Total $3,075.00 1,904.00 0,014.00 12,120.00 13.500.00 800.00 840.00 $46,968.00 4,632.00 $51,600.00 Mr. Collier came in Late for the meeting. After he explained the reason for the high cost of the crossing, there was much discussion. They agreed that much of the work could be done by the City.
