MINUTES OF THE PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL
MEETING HELD C(C:T_OBER 24, 1961 IN THE CITY HALL
The special meeting of the PearLand City Council was called t o order
by Mayor Gibbons at 7:00 P. M. October 24, 1961 in the City Halt with the
following guests and officials in attendance:
Mayor E. T. Gibbons
Aldermen Tom Alexander, L. C. Hawkins
W. E. Parker and Victor A. Nolen
Guests L. B. McCune, Santa Fe
A. N. Wade, Santa Fe Railroad
Mayor Gibbons opened the meeting for the purpose of discussing the
railroad problems of mutual interest to the City. Mr. Wade discussed the
possibility of adding an additional railroad crossingtax>tbDexsxaxsimg at
Orange Street. The Railroad Company estimated the cost for the crossing
would be $51, 600.00

Mr. Collier came in Late for the meeting. After he explained the
reason for the high cost of the crossing, there was much discussion. They
agreed that much of the work could be done by the City. Our part of the ex-
penses of signals will be 1/2 of the total costs. The Council decided to make
a further study.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P. M.
