MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL HELD OCTOBER 19, 1961
The regular meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to
order by Mayor Gibbons at 7:30 P. M. in the City Hall with the following
city officials and guests in attendance:

Aldermen
Chief of Police
Assistant

W. E. Parker, Tom Alexander
D. L. Smith and Victor A. Nolen
M. W. Robertson
D. C. Sanders
C. C. McMillian
The minutes of the October 5, 1961 meeting were read and
approved.
Mayor Gibbons reported that Dr. Rau had not been contacted
regarding a city health officer appointment. Mayor Gibbons stated that
he would approach Dr. Rag by next week.
Mayor Gibbons next discussed a special meeting for Tuesday,
October 24, 1961 at 7:00 P. M. to meet with the Railroad to discuss
crossings and signals.
A motion was made by Alderman Alexander and seconded by
Alderman Nolen that the expenses for the trip by County Deputy Green
and Chief Robertson to Fort Worth in the amount of $17,83 be paid.
ALL Aldermen voted "AYE" with no "NOES".
Mayor Gibbons nekt introduced Mr. C. C. McMillian's problem
with regard to Twin Creek addition who discussed the stre@t problem
in this addition and requested that the City accept the streets into the
City Street system. After a Lengthy discussion it was agreed that the
City should investigate annexation date of this section of the City, County
Road specifications and plat filing date for this subdivision. Mr. Mc-
MiLLian was advised the City would report their results of the investigation.
Mayor Gibbons next read a Letter to the State Liquor Control stating
the position of the City regarding rescinding the beer License of Francis
Ruhman at "Marie's Place".
A motion was made by Alderman Nolen and seconded by JkLderman
Smith that Ordinance #45 making it unlawful to destroy public property
in the City of PearLand be adopted. ALL Aldermen voted "AYE" with no
'.NOES".
After reading a proposed dog ordinance it was agreed to investigate
the various problems and reconsider the ordinance further.
