The meeting of the PearLand City Council was called to order by
Mayor Gibbons in the City Halt at 7:30 P. M. with the following City
Officials and guests in attendance:

The minutes of August 17, were read, corrected and approved.
The Street and Bridge Committee reported that signs for the
streets are being considered for purchase.
Chief Robertson reported that a meeting between the Lula-- — --
Church Saini, and petitioners involving noise was held to resoLve,diff-
erences between all parties concerned. The Lulacs agreed to riiduce.tha
music volume and the Church agreed to shut off the Loud speakers. The
petitioners agreed to this arrangement and everyone appears satysfied with` '
the meeting.
The Secretary, Victor A. Nolen, was instructed to write Lesika'r
Insurance Company a Letter stating that the car covered by the insurance
policy is a City police car.
Mayor Gibbons advised that a 100 watt radio has now been installed
in the police car.
Mr. Rose discussed the problem of dedicating right of way North of
Regency Park along the present 4W, road dedication.
r City Attorney Jack Harrison was instructed to prepare right of way
easements for the 5 tracts North and East of the Regency Park Subdivision
for execution by grantors and acceptance by the City.
City Secretary was instructed to prepare a Letter to the County
Commissioner asking that part of Dixie Farm Road be shelled to provide
road to McGinnis Subdivision.
Mayor Gibbons discussed State Highway Department proposal to
widen Highway 35 from just South of Clear Creek North, and post a tem-
porary construction speed of 35 miles per hour in this zone.
Councilman Alexander made a notation that Ordinance No. 42 per-
mitting the State Highway Department to post 35 mites per hour speed zone

signs in the prescribed area is proximity of Clear Creek be accepted.
Councilman Hawkins seconded the motion. ALL Aldermen voted AYE
with no "noes.
Mayor Gibbons next discussed the needs of a city planning
committee and the benefits which could be realized by the City from
their efforts.
Chief Robertson discussed the need for an additional receiver
on a different frequency for the police car to provide dual band coverage.
It was agreed to table this proposal for further consideration.
A motion was made by Alderman Nolen and seconded by Alder-
man Parker
that the following bills be paid and all Alderman voted
AYE with no
