1961-03-06 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD MARCH 6, 1961
OF THE PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL- SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to
order by Mayor Gibbons at 7:30 P.M. in the City HaLll with the following
officials and guests in attendance.
The meeting was called for the purpose of selecting a Chief of
P6Lice for the City of PearLand.
After due discussion on the various candidates and their qualifi-
cations, Mr. W. E. Parker made a motion and said motion being seconded
by Alderman Hawkins, that M. W. Robertson be appointed Chief of Police
for a monthly salary of $375.00 and a temporary car expense of $150.00
per month until the City can acquire a City patrol car. WHEREUPON the
question was asked and the motion carried with all present voting "AYE
with no "NOES".
A motion was made by Alderman Nolen and seconded by Alderman
Parker that the City Council Meeting date be placed on the School Band
calendar. WHEREUPON the question was asked and the motion carried
with all present voting "AYE" with no "NOES'.
With no further business to attend the meeting adjourned at
9:45 P.M.
