The meeting of the City Council.of the City of
Pearland, Texas, was called to order by Mayor -Gibbons on
May 19, 1960, at 8:00 P. M. in the.Pearland Junior High
School Board Room, with the following City Officials present:

Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
The minutes of May 5, 1960, were,read,
approved.

A motion was.made by Alderman Alexander and seconded
by Alderman Nolen that the Minutes of May 5, 1960, be
rescinded regarding minimum fines which appear on the reverse
side of police tickets. The fines to appear on the reverse
side of the tickets, effective this date.; are as follows:
1) Speeding $15.00 for first 10 miles
over stated speed .limit
and $1.00 per mile thereafter.

$10.00
3)
Stop Sign
$10.00
4)
Muffler Violation
$10.00
5)
Negligent Collision
$15.00
6)
Defective Lights
$10.00
7)
No drivers license
$25.00
8)
Failure to appear on
set date results in a
Warrant Fee of
$ 5.00.
WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion
carried, all present voting "AYE", with no "NOES".
The Mayor next instructed the Secretary to contact
Mr. J. R. Herridge regarding his new addition, and to also
contact the City of Houston Planning Board regarding future
street developments in the Pearland area.
The next matter to come before the Council was the
discussion of Mr. Cunningham's problems in the Mi0osa Additon
The Committee reported they had met with Mr. Cunningham and
suggested that the City accept maintenance of the one paved
street on thecondition that Mr. Cunningham provide a letter
acknowledging he will abide by the existing subdivision
ordinance for the undeveloped part of this subdivision.

Mayor Gibbons next appointed Alderman Smith and
Alderman Nolen to investigate activity on the second area
considering annexation.
A motion was next made by Alderman Hawkins and
seconded by Alderman Nolen that City Attorney Jack Harrison
prepare a letter agreement between Mr. Cunningham and
the City of Pearland for acceptance of the South block
of Cunningham Drive of Mimosa Subdivision. WHEREUPON, the
question was asked and the motion carried, all present
voting "AYE", with no "NOES".
There being no further business to come bdore the
meeting, the same was adjourned, subject to call.
