A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PEARLAND, TEXAS, REQUESTING THAT
THE BRAZORIA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT ESTABLISH A ROAD
DISTRICT TO ENABLE THE SEVERAL CITIES OF NORTH BRAZORIA
COUNTY TO ADDRESS THEIR REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION NEEDS.
WHEREAS, the need for additional regional transportation
arterials that are necessary for the movement of goods and people
throughout North Brazoria County and surrounding areas is becoming
increasingly critical, and
WHEREAS, the various cities of North Brazoria County do not
individually possess the resources or jurisdiction to construct the
needed regional transportation arterials, and
WHEREAS, the availability of construction funding from
Federal, State, and local programs has become more difficult to
acquire or is non-existent, and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the several cities of. North
Brazoria County to join together in the establishment of a Road
District to fund the needed regional transportation arterials,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council expresses its approval
and requests that the Brazoria County Commissioners Court establish
a Road District from all or parts of currently inactive Districts
to enable the several cities of North Brazoria County to
collectively identify and construct regional roadways;
Section 2. That the proposed Road District be established
in accordance with the attached map and field notes designated
collectively as Exhibit "A" and that all or parts of existing
boundaries within the new district be dissolved.

LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED IS LOCATED ENTIRELY IN BRAZORIA COUNTY,
TEXAS
BEGINNING AT THE COMMON CORNER BETWEEN BRAZORIA COUNTY,
GALVESTON COUNTY, AND HARRIS COUNTY AT CLEAR ~CREEK;
THENCE IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG THE SAID COMMON COUNTY
LINE BETWEEN BRAZORIA AND HARRIS COUNTIES ALONG SAID
CENTERLINE OF CLEAR CREEK WITH ITS MEANDERS TO THE COMMON

INTERSECTION OF THE CHOCOLATE BAYOU WATER COMPANY CANAL AND
COUNTY ROAD 56;
THENCE FOLLOWING THE CHOCOLATE BAYOU WATER COMPANY CANAL IN A
SOUTHERLY DIRECTION, CROSSING COUNTY ROAD 53 TO A POINT
APPROXIMATELY 2,000 FEET SOUTH OF SAID ROAD WHERE SAID CANAL
TURNS EAST;
THENCE IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION ALONG SAID CANAL TO A POINT
IN THE EAST SIDE OF COUNTY ROAD 65;
THENCE IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION ALONG THE CENTERLINE OF THE
CANAL TO AN ANGLE POINT SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD 60;
