A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, PROVIDING A CERTIFICATION OF FUNDIIVG COMMITIVIEIVT
FOR HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL PROJECT ID #986
(PEARLAND PARKWAY - FM 518 TO BELTWAY 8) AS A FOUR-LANE
BOULEVARD, AND SUBJECT TO THE AWARD OF SAID PROJECT,
COMMITTING FUNDS TOWARD THE LOCAL SHARE OF DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION COSTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the preliminary engineering and environmental assessment has
been completed and submitted to Texas Department of Transportation on June 27, 2000.
Section2. That the Houston-Galveston Area Council has requested a
determination of project readiness for the 2003-2005 Development TIP.
Section 3. That the City Council supports the Pearland Parkway extension
from FM 518 to Beltway 8, and subject to the award of said project, commits funds
toward the 20% local share of design and construction costs.

Project Commitment -
Include documentary evidence of a commitment to provide for a local match. The documentary
evidence should be in the form of an official action by a duly constituted governing body. The document
from this body may consist of a one-page letter in the form of a resolution, a minute order, or
commisioner's court order that provides a commitment of local match funding. Other evidence of local
commitment such as a bond issue supporting the proposed project, an approved Capital Improvements
Program (CIP) or other budgets supporting the required local funding showing local commitment is
appropriate. This letter should be labeled, "Certification of Funding Commitment."
