R2000-106 09-25-00 RESOLUTION NO. R2000-106 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, DEDUCTING $82,088.93 IN BAD DEBT FROM THE CITY'S FINANCIAL STATEMENTS. WHEREAS, the City currently has an allowance in the amount of ¢116,753.91 set aside, which represents ¢82,088.93 in bad debt; and WHEREAS, most of this amount is comprised of old unpaid water and sewer accounts which are practically uncollectible; and WHEREAS, the City's auditing firm has recommended that the City write off this bad debt from the City's financial statements; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That the 982,088.93 in bad debt represented by the list of individual accounts attached hereto as Exhibit "A" is hereby deducted from the City's accounts receivable amount on the City's financial statements. Section 2. That the City reserves its rights to take any necessary steps to collect these amounts, and that the foregoing action is not intended and shall not be construed as a waiver of said rights.
