R2000-118 10-23-00 RESOLUTION NO. R2000-118 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PEARLAND'S PARTICIPATION IN THE BRAZORIA COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, Brazoria County Municipal Utility District No. 18 (the "District") has boundaries extending into Brazoria and Harris Counties, Texas; and WHEREAS, VTCA Tax Code, Section 6.02, as amended, provides that a taxing unit by official action of its governing body may choose the appraisal district which shall be responsible for appraising all property within the unit; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City hereby notifies Brazoria County Appraisal District of the City's choice of Brazoria County Appraisal District to appraise all property located within the boundaries of the District as of January 1, 2001, and the subsequent tax year. Section 2. The District shall be charged with all costs incurred by Brazoria County Appraisal District in conducting the appraisals herein requested. Section 3. The City Manager and the City Attorney are authorized and directed to take any and all actions necessary and proper in connection with this Resolution.
