A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF A TRACT OF LAND, AS
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED IN AN ATTACHED DEED FROM GEORGE V.
HASTINGS AND WIFE, NOLA M. HASTINGS; AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ANY AND ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THIS DONATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to obtain said property;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND:
SECTION 1. The City of Pearland is hereby authorized to accept
all that certain tract of land as set out in a deed attached as
Exhibit "A" as a gift and without any monetary consideration.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Manager of the City of Pearland
are hereby authorized to accept the Special Warranty Deed to the
aforesaid tract of land executed by GEORGE V. HASTINGS AND WIFE,
NOLA M. HASTINGS, upon its delivery to the City of Pearland, of which
a copy is attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Pearland,

SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED
THE STATE OF TEXAS
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF BRAZORIA
That GEORGE V. HASTINGS and WIFE, NOLA M. HASTINGS, hereinafter
called Grantors, of the County of Brazoria, State of Texas for and in
consideration as a gift and without any monetary consideration and
other valuable consideration to the undersigned paid by the Grantee
herein named, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have
GRANTED, SOLD AND CONVEYED, and by these presents do GRANT, SELL AND
CONVEY unto the CITY OF PEARLAND, a municipal corporation of the
County of Brazoria and State of Texas, all of the following described
real property in Brazoria County, Texas, to-wit:
Lots Forty (40) and Forty-One (41) , in Block Twenty-Three
(23) of the Townsite of the City of Pearland, an addition in
Brazoria County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof
recorded in Volume 29, Page 41, of the Deed Records of
Brazoria County, Texas.
This conveyance is made and accepted subject to all mineral
reservations, restrictions, easements, covenants and conditions, if
any, of record, but only to the extent that they affect the above
described property and any reservations and exceptions hereinafter
made.
In the event the Grantee shall not complete said renovation of
the Melvin Knapp Activity Building within eighteen (18) months of this
conveyance, then said property shall revert back to the Grantors,
their heirs or assigns and the conveyance hereunder shall be null and
void.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises, together with
all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise
belonging, unto the said Grantee, successors, and assigns forever; and
we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators
to WARRANT AND FOREVER DEFEND all and singular the said premises unto
the said Grantee, its successors and assigns, against every person

whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof,
by, through or under us, but not otherwise.
