R83-06 02-28-83 RESOLUTION NO. R83-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, SUSPENDING THE OPERATION OF PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY TEXAS- NEW MEXICO POWER COMPANY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120) DAYS BEYOND THE DATE ON WHICH SUCH SCHED- ULES WOULD OTHERWISE GO INTO EFFECT. WHEREAS, Texas-New Mexico Power Company ("TNMP") did, on January 28, 1983, file a schedule of rates for service within the City of Pearland, to become effective March 4, 1983; and WHEREAS, after having considered the presentation of TNMP, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Pearland, that such schedule of rates should be suspended for a period of 120 days from March 4, 1983, for further study, investigation, presentation of evidence and public hearing; and WHEREAS, a copy of this Resolution has been provided TNMP. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Pursuant to Section 43 (d) of the Public Utility Regulatory Act, the operation of TNMP proposed rate schedules filed with the City of Pearland, on January 28, 1983, is hereby suspended for a period of 120 days from March 4, 1983, for further study, inves- tigation, presentation of evidence and public hearing. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, on this 28th day of February, 983. /7 Mayor ATTEST: NOTICE OF SPECIAL CITY ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTIES OF BRAZORIA & HARRIS CITY OF PEARLAND TO THE RESIDENT QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: TAKE NOTICE that a Special Election will be held on the 2nd day of April, 1983, in conjunction with the Regular City Officers ' Election at 2337 N. Galveston Avenue (Pearland High School) , in the City of Pearland, Brazoria and Harris Counties , Texas . Said Election will be held in the manner set forth in the attached copy of a Resolution ordering a Special Election, duly entered by the City Council of the City of Pearland on the 31st day of January, 1983, where at said Election the following question shall be sub- mitted to the resident qualified electors of the City of Pearland for their action to-wit: "FOR ) ) a change in the compensation of the Mayor from ) - $100 . 00 to $300 . 00 per month, and the City Council ) from $75 . 00 to $250 .00 per month.
