R84-24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEARL~ND AND THE JOURNAL BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, that the Mayor be, and he is hereby autho- rized to execute for and in behalf of the City, a Contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, by and between the City of Pearland and The Journal , a newspaper of general circulation in Pearland, Texas, for the purpose of serving as the official newspaper for the City of Pearland. Box 2068 Pearland, Tx. 77588-2068 Dear Mrs. Cook: The Pearland Journal submits a bid to serve as the official newspaper of the City of Pearland by publishing legal notices at the rate of nine (9) cents per word. There is no increase in the rate, so it remains the same as last year. The term of the bid is for the period beginning Oct. 1, 1984 and ending Sept. 30, 1985. Our publications come out each Wednesday and Friday in Pearland and Friendswood; and Wednesday in Alvin. The Pearland Journal is a semi-weekly newspaper with paid circulation of 4,640 and is distributed primarily by the U. S. Mail with full second class mailing permits. Legal deadlines are noon Monday for the Wednesday edition and noon Wednesday for the Friday edition. Thank you for the opportunity to submit this bid. We will strive to continue providing a quality newspaper for the city. Wicker,City Manager oPlj 1FV ,I','-' THIS AGREEMENT, when signed by the CITY OF PEARLAND and the publishers of THE JOURNAL , will serve as ;official confirmation and agreement between • both parties that THE JOURNAL , a newspaper of general circulation in Pear= land, Texas , is now the official newspaper of the City of Pearland, Texas. . THE JOURNAL agrees to print all such legal notices or other matter pertaining to official City business as may be furnished it by the City of Pearl and. Rates for such printing shall be nine (9) cents per word for each such insertion. It is agreed by both parties that this Agreement may be cancelled by either party upon giving of 30 days written notice to that effect. It is further agreed that this Agreement is subject to renewal on October 1 , 1985.
