Ord. 0049 1962-03-15ORDINANCE NUMBER LI7 Gem/o3- AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE BURNING OF RUBBISH OR TRASH WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, IN OPEN FIRES, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PEARLAND: That Ordinance No. 4 , adopted this the /,S day of MARCH, A, D. 1962, be and the same shall hereafter read as follows: WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City of PearLand that the indiscrimate burning of rubbish and trash and the burning of open fires within the corporate Limits of the City of PearLand has been the cause of numerous destructive fires requiring calls to be made upon the Fire Department and whereas, the situation is of an emergency nature requiring the immediate reguLation and making it imperative that this Ordinance be passed as an emergency measure on the date of its introduction. It is, therefore, ORDAINED by the City of PearLand, that there shall be permitted no open fires for the burning of trash or rubbish within the corporate Limits of the City of PearLand at any time after the passage of this Ordinance. The term open fire shaLL include any fire other than in a stove or funace which will compLeteLy enclose the fire and which is equipped with a flue sufficient to prevent sparks from being bLown, VioLation of any provision of this Ordinance shalL be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00 or more than $200.00, PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Pearland City CounciL this the /Jr day of March, A.
