ORDINANCE NO,
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, RECEIVING AND
ANNEXING AS A PART OF THE SAID CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, THE
FOLLOWING TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS: DULY ASSEMBLED:
SECTION 1: WHEREAS, on the 14th day of December, A. D. 1963,
there was filed with the Mayor of the City of PearLand, Texas, the following
instrument:

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, BRAZORIA COUNTY, TEXAS:
That Brazoria County Water Control and Improvement District
Number Three, a governmental body and political subdivision of the State
of Texas, with its principal office Located in PearLand, Brazoria County,
Texas, acting by and through its duLy authorized officers, the undersigned,
and being the owner of the hereinafter described Lands which are Located
and situated immediately adjacent and contiguous to the existing Limits of
the City of PearLand, Brazoria County, Texas, do hereby petition and
request that the HnnorabLe Mayor and City CounciL of the said City annex
the Lands herein described into and make same a part of the Corporate
Limits of the said City of PearLand, aLL in accordance with the Laws of the
State of Texas, said premises to be considered for said annexation being
described by metes and bounds as follows:
One acre of Land out of Tract Seven (7) of the HT&B RR
Company Survey, Abstract 240, Section 13, Brazoria
County, Tocas and being more particularly described by
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on lhe West Line of County Road
104, said point being 700 feet South of the Northeast
corner of Tract 7 in the HT&B RR Survey, Abstract 240
Section 13;
VA. 868 FME2O7
THENCE South 348.48 feet along the West boundary Line
of County Road 104, for a corner;
THENCE West 125 feet for a corner;
THENCE North 348.48 feet, for a corner;
THENCE East 125 feet to the point of Beginning and containing
one (1) acre of Land, more or Less;
It is the further request and petition of thesaid Brazoria County
Water ControL and Improvement District Number Three, that the said City
Council immediately hear such petition and grant this request and petition
and that there be an annexation of the Lands herein described by the City
CounciL of the City of PearLand and that the said body by proper ordinance
receive and annex such territory and premises described hereinabove as a
part of the said City and that thereafter the petitioners and any and aLL
future inhabitants of the said premises be invested with aLL rights and pri-
vileges of other citizens of the said City and be bound by the acts and
ordinances of the said City.
This petition and request executed this the 14th day of September,
A. D. 1963.

City of PearLand, do hereby certify that on the 14th day of December, A.
D. 1963, there was fiLed with me as Mayor of said City, the foLLowing:
PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
That an examination of the above described instrument and petition
reveaL that an election was heLd in the therein described territory adjoining
the City of PearLand, Texas, on the 14thday of ater, A. D. 1963, and
that the owners petitioned the City of PearLand, through the City Council for
annexation and did vote in favor of annexation of the territory described in
the petition to the City of PearLand, and properLy fiLed and certified such
action to me as the Mayor of the City of PearLand, Texas.
That the above described territory adjoining the City of PearLand,
Texas, is now LegaLLy susceptabte of annexation to the City of PearLand,
upon the passage and approval of a proper ordinance.

SECTION 3: ALL of the above mentioned instruments having been
fiLed with the City Secretary of the City of PearLand, by E. T. Gibbons, the
Mayor thereof, together with his certificate on this the j4day of December,
A. D. 1963, the City CounciL of the City of PearLand having examined the
same and having inquired into the facts and circumstances surrounding aLL

of the said proceedings and being fuLty advised of the premises, hereby finds
that ail of the statements therein contained are true and correct and that the
procedure initiated, prosecuted and concluded by the owners of said territory
was, in aLL respects, proper and in keeping with the taws of this State pre-
scribing such procedure and that there has been performed and consummated
every Legal prerequisite necessary to a valid and effectuaL election and petition
for annexation of said territory as a part of the City of PearLand.
SECTION 4: The City CounciL finds as a fact that the owners of said
territory have duly and regularly cast their vote in favor of said annexation.
SECTION 5: That said territory described in said proceedings Lies
adjacent and contiguous to the City of PearLand and does not at any pLace extend
one-haLf mile or more in width.
SECTION 6: There is hereby receiVed and annexed as a part of the
City of PearLand, Texas, the following territory, being the same as described
in the petition for annexation as hereinabove set out:

SECTION 8: The Corporate Limits of the City of PearLand, are

hereby extended to so as to include and there is hereby included within said
Corporate Limits, the above described territory.
SECTION 9: This ORDINANCE shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and approvaL by the Mayor and thence forth said territory shall
be and remain a part of the City of PearLand, Texas, as fully and to aLL intents
and purposes as if said territory were incLuded within the Corporate Limits
of the City of PearLand, as originally incorporated.
