R70-44 05-11-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, BRAZORIA HARRIS COUNTIES, TEXAS, DESIGNATING AND ESTABLISH- ING CERTAIN AREAS, WITHIN THE CORPOP~qTE CITY LIMITS, AS TEMPORARY PARK AND RECREATIONAL SITES, AND CON- TAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING THERETO. Whereas, the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, has determined, and hereby determines and declares that parks and recreational areas are conducive to good physical health, aids the social and moral well- being, and generally provides pleasure, comfort and amusement for the public; and Whereas, Articles 1015 (32) and 6081 f, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes provide and give cities authority to operate and maintain parks and recreational areas and to provide for inclosing, regulating and improving of said public grounds; and Whereas, the City of Pearland presently has vacant usuable land that can be utilized for temporary park and recreational areas and further has facilities and manpower to maintain and operate said temporary facilities, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: SECTION I That the facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct. SECTION II That any and all usable and accessable areas, not in conflict with the present use, within and only within the confines and boundaries of the Clear Creek/Twin Creek Woods Sewer Plant Site I and the Main Sewer Plant Site II, both shown of record in the County Clerk's office of Brazoria County, Texas, are hereby for all purposes, designated as temporary park and recreational areas, with the reservation that City may at anytime, without cause and with- out hearing, close or abandon same and designate other areas within the Cit~ as either permanent or temporary park or recreational sites. SECTION III That the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to prescribe the boundaries of the temporary areas aforementioned and to do all things necessary and expediant for prompt utilization and enjoyment by the public.
