R74-09 04-08-74RESOLUTION NO. 74 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $2,500.00 FOR PARTICIPATION IN COST OF RAILROAD WARNING SIGNAL INSTALLATION ON KNAPP ROAD �//�(/f yJ L��uoG v v WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad crossing on Knapp Road in the City of Pearland has been deemed to be a hazardous crossing, and 4g4 4rC 4114444_. WHEREAS,.Thabri=alailifor Federal Aid for Safer Roads makes available federal funds for the inst ro and WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department is responsible for the assignment of priorities and allocation of these funds, and WHEREAS, the State Highway Engineer, in his letter of March 22, 1974, to George D. Carter, Mayor of Brookside Village, Texas, advises that federal money will be available during the year 1974 to fund the State/Federal participation in this project, and WHEREAS, the State Highway Engineer estimates the cost of the Railroad Warning Signal Project to be $25,000.00, of which 10% local participation is required, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: That the City of Pearland, Texas, hereby appropriates the sum of $2,500.00 (10% of the estimated cost) as its share in the cost of the State/Federal participation project for the installation of railroad crossing warning signals at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad crossing on Knapp Road.
