R74-09A 04-15-74RESOLUTION NO. 74-9A A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $2,500.00 FOR PARTICIPATION IN COST OF RAILROAD WARNING SIGNAL INSTALLATION ON KNAPP ROAD AND EXPRESSLY REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 74-9 PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED ON APRIL 8, 1974. WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad crossing on Knapp Road in the City of Pearland has been deemed to be a hazardous crossing, and WHEREAS, the State of Texas allocates funds for the installation of railroad crossing warning signals through its City - County Grade Crossing Program, and WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department is responsible for the assignment of priorities and allocations, and WHEREAS, the State Highway Engineer, in his letter of April 11, 1974, advises that funds will be available during the year 1974 to complete this project, and WHEREAS, the State Highway Engineer estimates the cost of the Railroad Warning Signal Project to be $25,000.00, of which 10% local participation is required, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: That the City of Pearland, Texas, hereby appropriates the sum of $2,500.00 (10% of the estimated cost) as its share of the cost of participation for the installation of railroad crossing warning signals at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad crossing on Knapp Road. That Resolution No. 74-9 previously passed and approved on April 8, 1974, is hereby expressly repealed and revoked, PASSED AND APPROVED this /5 day ofloOt A. D. 1974.
