A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, REQUESTING THAT THE COMMISSIONER'S COURT OF HARRIS
COUNTY, RENAME CHOATE ROAD FROM INTERSTATE 45. TO CLEAR
CREEK ALONG THE NORTHEASTERLY SIDE OF W.D.C. HALL SURVEY,
ABSTRACT 23, HARRIS COUNTY AND WILLIAM K. SMITH ABSTRACT
735, HARRIS COUNTY; AND THAT THE NAME CHOATE ROAD BE
CHANGED TO DIXIE FARM ROAD.
WHEREAS, the City of Pearland is constructing and improving Dixie
Farm Road in Brazoria County, Texas, so that it will join Choate Road in
Harris County, Texas, to connect with Interstate 45, Gulf Freeway; and
WHEREAS, this roadway, when completed, will enable vehicles to
enter Pearland and travel between the Gulf Freeway and Highway 35; and
WHEREAS, other roads in Harris County presently have the same
"Choate Road" name,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY
OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
That the Harris County Commissionerts Court give favorable
consideration to the renaming of this roadway to Dixie Farm Road for the
purposes and reasons expressed above.

Dear Commissioner Bass:
Attached is a copy of a Resolution requesting `that ;the name
of Choate Road be changed to Dixie Farm Road. This Resolution
is a result of our meeting with you and Mayor Lowe-of:Friendswood
a few weeks ago.
We would appreciate your consideration in presenting this
Resolution to the Harris County Commissioner's' Court': as our petition.
Mayor Lowe of Friendswood will present a similar resolution in the
near future.
