R87-26 11-26-87RESOLUTION NO. R87-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXEMPTION OF CERTAIN POLICE VEHICLES FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE MARKING REQUIREMENTS OF V.A.C.S. ARTICLE 6701m-2, AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN LICENSING THEREOF. WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Pearland to have certain unmarked police vehicles available for undercover work and criminal investigations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: THAT, pursuant to V.A.C.S. Article 6701m-2, any City- owned motor vehicle used for the purpose of performing official police duties which, in the opinion of the Chief of Police and the City Manager, should be unmarked in the interest of effective law enforcement, shall be and are hereby exempted from the provisions of said Article, and shall be and are hereby authorized to have affixed thereon such license number plates as are ordinarily affixed to privately-owned motor vehicles in the State.
