2000-12-04 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON DECEMBER 4, 2000, AT 6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Mayor Pro -Tem Klaus Seeger Councilmember Helen Beckman Councilmember Woody Owens Councilmember Larry Marcott City Attorney Darrin Coker City Secretary Young Lorfing Absent Councilmember Larry Wilkins. Others in attendance: Manager of Administrative Support Tobin Maples; Police Chief J.C. Doyle. PURPOSE OF HEARING - PROPOSED ANNEXATION r To consider the proposed annexation of approximately 31.1548 acres generally located in the W.D.C. Hall Survey, Abstract No. 23, Harris County, Texas (portion of 51.3130 acre tract within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Pearland adjacent to the City Limits and east of Bellavita in Harris County) STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN Manager of Administrative Support, Tobin Maples, stated this is a request for voluntary annexation of approximately 31.1548 acres east of the Bellavita subdivision and adjacent to the City limits and is located in Harris County. Mr. Maples briefly addressed the public hearing process and annexation schedule. He also stated that the service plan for this annexation is identical to the Bellavita annexation from last year. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. Page 1 of 2 - 12/4/2000 221 222 COUNCIUSTAFF DISCUSSION Councilmember Beckman asked if this annexation is near the extinct subdivision? Interim City Manager, Alan Mueller, stated that this annexation does not go that far. There is approximately one mile between this annexation and the subdivision that was demolished. Mr. Mueller also showed on the map where the proposed annexation is, in relation to the Harris County detention pond.
