R98-39 05-11-98 RESOLUTION NO. R98-39 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF "SURPLUS PROPERTY" BELONGING TO THE CITY AND DETERMINING THE NEED FOR A PUBLIC AUCTION TO FACILITATE THE PROPER DISPOSITION OF THE CITY'S "SURPLUS PROPERTY". WHEREAS, the City, because of use or time, has accumulated personal property that is not currently necessary and for which no foreseeable need exists; and WHEREAS, Council finds it necessary to designate all such property as "surplus property" in accordance with V.T.C.A. Local Government Code §263.151; and WHEREAS, Council has determined a need exists to conduct a public auction to sell the City's "surplus property"; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Pearland formally declares all items including but not limited to those items indicated on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all practical purposes, as "surplus property" Section 2. The City Council of the City of Pearland authorizes the City Manager or his designee to conduct a public auction to facilitate the proper disposition of the City's "surplus property" in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.
