R95-44 06-19-95 RESOLUTION NO. R95 -44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE, IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CITY, CONTRACTS TO SELL AND /OR BARTER DIRT, OR OTHER VALUE ADDED TO THE PROPERTY, SHOULD THE OPPORTUNITY ARISE. WHEREAS, the City of Pearland has purchased approximately 300 acres of land, east of Old Alvin Road adjacent to Clear Creek, to be used for water retention and flood control purposes; and WHEREAS, costly excavation of this property for lakes and other detention areas are necessary to facilitate these purposes; and WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to sell and /or barter for the excavation or other values added to the property, should the opportunity arise; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate, in the best interests of the City, contracts to sell and /or barter dirt or other values added to the property, should the opportunity arise.
