RE: AVITTS ROAD
WE VERY MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR CHECKING WITH THE PEARLAND
HISTORICAL SOCIETY REGARDING THE NAMING OF COUNTRY ROAD 869.
WE THOROUGHLY CONCUR WITH THE NAME "AVITTS ROAD". H N.}W
AVITTS WAS A LONG TIME AREA RESIDENT AND A RESPECTED CITIZEN.
WE BELIEVE NAMING C.E. 869 "AVITTS ROAD" WOULD BE AN APPROPRIATE
RECOGNITION OF A LONG TIME AREA FAMILY. IT IS OIJR 'UNDERSTANDING
THAT THE HISTORICAL NAME SHOULD GO ON THE TOP OF THE STREET
MARKER AND THE COUNTY ROAD DESIGNATION IN THE CENTER. THANK
YOU FOR SEEKING OUR INPUT ON THIS MATTER . WE HOPE YOU 'WILL
CHECK WITH US IN THE FUTURE IN RE -NAMING THE ROADS TAKEN IN BY
THE CITY.

As per the discussion during last weeks city councils meeting on the Hastings Annexation, my
request irbelow.
To show respect to the long time residence of the Hastings area and an effort for the City of
Pearland to promote!good will to a community that resents the annexation, I suggest that the
following roads be named accordingly. County Road 414 be named "Collins Road" and the
road that T's into 1111 be named "Wallace Road". County Road 869 be named "Avitts Road".
if these changes canSe made it would show good will towards our community. If you have any
questions, please give me a call.
Thank you,
Mary C. Price
