PURPOSE OF HEARING Request of owners for an amendment to the Land Use and Urban Development Ordinance of said City from classification Suburban Development District (SD) to Commercial District (C) on the following described property, to wit: Legal Description: 4.9989 acres out of Lots 6 & 7, Allison Richey Gulf Coast Home Co. Part of Suburban Gardens, Section 20, H. T. & B. R.R. Director of Community Development and Services Gene Tumlinson showed the location map. He explained that this was an existing mini -storage complex that was annexed into the City limits. III. COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION/STAFF DISCUSSION Council Member Larry Wilkins asked if this business was operating as a mini -storage complex prior to annexation. Director of Community Development and Services Gene Tumlinson stated that itwas existing. He added that he thinks the owners are proposing an expansion, therefore, they would need the zone change. Council Member Klaus Seeger asked if they are expanding the structures on the existing property or expanding the property size. Mr. Tumlinson stated that they are proposing to expand the structure on the existing property. VI. ADJOURNMENT The Joint Public Hearing adjourned at 6:36 PM. Zoning Application No. 913 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:37 PM. II. PURPOSE OF HEARING Request of owners for an amendment to the Land Use and Urban Development Ordinance of said City from classification Suburban Development District (SD) to Commercial District (C) on the following described property, to wit: Legal Description: 10.00 acres situated in the Southwest 1/4 of the North 1/4 of Section 17, H. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST Charlie Eason, 2510 Anthony, explained that he represents the buyer and the seller of this property. He stated that Michael Pollock and Bo Winston are the proposed buyers, however, they have not disclosed what type of development is proposed. He added that they need the zone change for the sale of the property. IV. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST None V. COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION/STAFF DISCUSSION Council Member Russ Selemon asked if the 200' notification boundary extends to the property South outside the City limits. Director of Community Development and Services Gene Tumlinson stated that only the property owners within the City limits are notified. Planning and Zoning Commissioner Todd locco asked what the Comprehensive Plan shows for this area. Mr. Tumlinson stated that the Comprehensive Plan shows this property as Retail, offices and services. Mayor Pro -Tem William Berger asked what the status of the five zone changes in this area recently considered for a change to Commercial. Mr. Tumlinson stated that all five requests were denied at the first reading. VI. ADJOURNMENT The Joint Public Hearing adjourned at 6:42 PM. Zoning Application No 914 & Specific Use No. 80 1. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST Application No. 910 - Terry Brooks of West Development showed the site plan and stated that this is a part of a master planned community. She added that it will have eighty(80)foot by one hundred (100) foot lots. She explained that Village Builders will be the builder with the average home price being two hundred thousand (200,000) dollars. IV. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST Application 915 - Harold Baras asked what the difference is between SD and R1 zoning.
