Ord. 0280 05-28-74TEXAS: ORDINANCE NO. 280 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING CHARGES FOR THE COLLECTION OF RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH CHARGES ALLOW NO CREDIT FOR VACANCIES; PROVIDING THAT SUCH CHARGES BE DEBITED TO EACH ACTIVE WATER METER ACCOUNT; PROVIDING THAT TRASH AND BRUSH COLLECTION BE AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS UPON REQUEST; PROVIDING FOR CHARGES FOR THE COLLECTION OF COMMERCIAL GARBAGE; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO, 182 AND ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY_ OF PEARLAND, Section 1. That the monthly charges for collection of residential garbage shall be at the following rate; Collection of garbage at a single family residence:.,$3.-Orr Collection of garbage at a duplex, triplex, or, garage �S apartment (each unit). $3. Special request for trash and brush collection:......No charge The above charges allow for periodical vacancies, therefore, no credit will be given where a vacancy develops. Said charges will be debited to each water meter account while the account is, active. Section 2. The following monthly charges shall govern the collection of garbage in the City of Pearland for commercial establishments using individual garbage cans: Number of Receptacles Collections Per Week Two l $ 3.00 2 4.30 3 5,90 4 7.30 Three $ 3.50 6.20 8.60 10.70 Page Section 3. That the following monthly charges shall govern the collection of garbage in the City of Pearland for commercial es- tablishments utilizing City owned containers. (Capacity - Two and one-half cu. yd. - each container). Collections Per Week 2 3 4 *Monthly Cha'r9e For Each Container $20.00 30.00 38.00 46,00 * Each customer will be limited to one container, iteqUest for additional containers must be approved by the City Manager, Section 4. That for all refuse collection needs, including special collections, not stated in Section 2 and Section 3-above, a charge of $5.00 for each fifteen (15) minutes of collection time will be made. Section-5. The above charges governing the collection of garbage at residential and commercial establishments shall be rendered on the water bill for such residence or commercial establishment, and failure to pay such gargabe bill shall constitute a violation of this ordinance and such water service shall be discontinued by the City of Pearland for failure to pay such garbage bill, Section 6. All ordinances, resolutions, or parts of ordinances or resolutions, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Ordinance No. 182 is hereby expressly repealed. Section 7. If any article, subdivision, paragraph, clause, section, Paaa - 2 - phrase, or sentence of this ordinance, or the application thereto to a particular person, set of persons, or to a particular set of circumstances, should, for any reason, be held invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining provisions hereof, and to such end the various provisions hereof are declared to be separable. Section 8. That this ordinance shall be effective after its passage and approval on second and final reading.
