Ord. 0156 1968-04-11ORDINANCE NO. 4C4 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF CITY OFFICIAL AND SPECIAL PURPOSE ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AND SUSPENDING RULES REQUIRING ORDINANCE TO BE READ UPON THREE SEPARATE DAYS. WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Pearland, Texas on the 6th day of April, 1968, an election at which there were submitted to the duly qualified Yesident electorate of said Pearland, Texas, for their action thereupon, the following officials and propositions: MAYOR D. R. Keller 765 votes FOR COUNCILMAN (Two) Sidney Ray C. Joe T. Aubrey I. Barfield Corder Price G. Ellis E. A. Wasek PROPOSITIONS 222 votes 338.votes 275 votes 557 votes 457 votes Sale of land: The approximate thirty acre garbage disposal site may be sold or traded by publicly offered bids at Council discretion. Proceeds to be used for street repair and maintenance after retire- ment of $13,750.00 indebtness against land and de- fraying costs of sale or for purchase of other garbage disposal site. Sale of the old sewer plant acre, old sewer plant site, cretion by publicly offered repair and maintain streets For 375 votes Against 501 votes site: The approximate five may be sold at Council dis- bid. Proceeds to be used to or for purchase of other Section IV. That the proposition - salaries - Mayor and City Council - received a majority of the qualified votes cast at said election and the City Council is authorized to pay the $aid salaries beginning October 1, 1968. Section V. That the rule requiring that an ordinance be read on three separate days is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
