ORDINANCE NO. 164
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, PROHIBITING MOBILFt HOMES FROM ANY
LOT, TRACT, OR PARCEL OF LAND NOT AUTHORIZED
THEREFOR BY THE CITY OF PEARLAND; PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS:
Section 1. "Mobile Home" shall mean any vehicle or
similar portable structure having no foundation other than
wheels, jacks or skirting and so designed or constructed as to
permit occupancy for dwelling or sleeping purposes.
Section 2. "Residence" shall meanthe fact or status
of living or staying.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful to park or place for
occupancy as a residence any mobile home on any street, alley,
lot, tract, or parcel of land in the City for a period longer
than forty-eight (48) hours, without written permission from
the City Administrator and/or Mayor, such period not to ex-
ceed 7 days, except in a mobile home camp or park as authorized
and permitted by the City of Pearland.
Section 4.
Existing, occupied mobile homes in violation
of this ordinance on the date of its adoption shall be permitted
to remain; however, should existing occupants vacate the
mobile home, no other occupancy would be allowed until the
mobile home is in compliance with Section 3 of this ordinance.
No alterations or expansion to a "non -conforming use" mobile
home will be permitted. Should an existing mobile home
be removed, another one cannot be placed on the property.
Section 5. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdeameanor
and shall upon conviction in Corporation Court be subject
to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for
each offense, and each and every day any such violation shall
continue shall be deemed a separate offense.
