R2009-153 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, WAIVING THE CITY'S DEVELOPMENT FEES FORA HOUSE TO BE BUILT IN THE CITY BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR A FAMILY IN NEED. WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity is a charitable organization that utilizes volunteers to build houses to donate free of charge to individuals in need; and WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity is seeking to cooperatively construct such a house in the City for a family in need; and WHEREAS, the City Council realizes that imposing the City's customary development fees to the project would cause a financial hardship to this worthy charitable endeavor, which relies primarily on donations of labor and materials; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a public purpose is served by a limited waiver of the City's development fees for Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a family in need; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council hereby waives the City's development fees for the house to be constructed at 2220 Pearland Avenue by Habitat for Humanity. Section 2. The waiver of development fees at 2220 Pearland Avenue, as they are associated with the Habitat for Humanity project, shall expire on September 14, 2011. RESOLUTION NO.
