BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. This grant is requested to fund 20% of the Development Director's salary to start and coordinate this program. Pearland Neighborhood Center ESL, life skills, GED preparation 10,000 10,000 Provide ESL classes, and provide life skills and GED preparation, and computer skills classes to both English- speaking and non-English-speaking low-moderate income level clients so that clients may become more employable. Pearland Neighborhood Center Emergency assistance -serve 50 clients (25% of program) Provide emergency rental, utility and medical and prescription assistance for low-moderate income, elderly and/or disabled clients. City of Pearland EMS Non-emergency wheelchair van services (driver, fuel) Purchase of a van to provide non-emergency transportation for disabled persons to treatments, doctors' appointments, outpatient care, tests, etc. Services will begin April 1, 2010. The City will fund a portion of the van and the remaining costs associated with the program. The total project cost for FY2010 is $59,199. 51 % of the transports must be low- to moderate-income. The City included $19,900 in the CDBG-Recovery grant application for this project. The total cost of the project is $29,600. 9, 700 9, 700 City of Pearland: Sidewalks Four Sidewalk Projects total $172,000: Fite / Cullen to Navare This is a continuation of the sidewalk along the south side of Fite west from Cullen to Navare. At $5.50/ft 19,000 19,000 (includes removing and hauling spoil) and the rental of a concrete pumper truck for two (2) days at $2,500/day. Hawk /Southdown to Cuilen This project includes the installation of a sidewalk and storm sewer along the south side of Hawk from Southdown subdivision to Cullen. The project consists of approximately 2500' of 4' sidewalk at $5.50/ft (includes removing and hauling spoil) and a combination of 30" and 24" storm sewer at $25/ft (includes removing and hauling spoil, stablized sand backfill, select fill cover and hydromulch). 76,500 76,500 Walnut /Park Place Apartments This project includes the installation of a sidewalk and storm sewer along the south side of Walnut from the west to the east driveways of Park Place Apartments. This project consists of approximately 325' of 4' sidewalk at $5.50/ft (includes removing and hauling spoil) and 24" storm sewer at $25/ft (includes removing and hauling spoil, stabilized sand backfill, select fill cover and hydromulch). 11,500 11,500 2 CDBG FY2010 FUNDING FOR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS PROPOSED FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL -REVISED 8/4/2009 FY 10 FY10 Amount Amount HUD Agency Program & Purpose Requested Approved Limit Lambreth / Andover to Southdown and Southdown / Margate Ct to Oxford 65,000 This project includes a sidewalk along both sides of Lambreth from Andover to Southdown and a sidewalk along both sides of Southdown from Margate Ct. on the north side and Oxford St. on the south side. The project consists of approximately 5760' of 6' sidewalk at $7.50/ft (includes removing and hauling spoil) and 54 ADA ramps at $325 each. North Texas, South Houston, Walnut 76,918 This project includes three sidewalks -one from 2228 to 2332 North Texas, a second from 2401 to 2537 South Houston, and the third from 3519 to 3800 East Walnut in the Old Town Center neighborhood. The project will include 968 ft of 6' sidewalk, ADA ramp, and 1662 ft of 4' sidewalk. City Project: Southdown Park Pavilion and Lighting for Trail 100,000 Construct a pavilion and install lighting at the Southdown Park. City Project: Old Settlers' Cemetery Old Ornamental Cemetery Fencing 20,000 20,000 Replace ornamental fencing at Old Settlers' Cemetery.
