CITY OF PEARL,AND TEXAS HELD ON AUGCTST 16 -1982 AT 7x07 P.M. IN THE
CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE PEARLAI~ID, TEXAS
The regular ireeting was called to on3er with the following present:
Dan Keller -Chairperson
Gail Birdsong -Vice Chairperson
Roy Sanchez -Commissioner
Mary Hickling -Director
APPROVAL OF MINUI'F~ -
Chairperson Keller declared approval of the minutes of the August 2, 1982
meeting. The Commission aggreed.
ACTIVITY:
Chairperson Keller reported on a meeting with Chief of Police Stanford.
Chief Stanford suggested that the Commission and Director might like to
tour the police facilities in Fearland, and at their convenience, ride an
eight hour shift with one of the senior police officers. Director Hickling
was instructed to set up tour of facilities on August 23 if possible.
Chairperson Keller presented a time table or series of events for
consideration by the committee. That schedule reads as follows:
1. Discussion of the General Orders and Rules
2. Presentation of questions
3. Purify questions
4. Hold public meeting
5. Present to legal cotmcil
6. Adopt rules
It WdS agreed Upon kyy tl'fe cCBlmittee that the week of September 6,
1982 will be the target date for presentation of work to the attorney.
It was the consensus of the Commission that until space at the City Hall
changes, Director Hickling will set up office at her home, including
whatever equipment she needs.
A discussion of the General Orders and Rules was held and will continue
at the next meeting.
The Civil Service Commission will meet again on August 23, 1982.
