The facility serves 63 clients and currently has three restrooms, one with an adult changing table and two that are wheelchair accessible. City proposed funding to 15% of total available and 50% of program total. City Project: Sanitary Sewer Veterans'27"Sanitary Sewer Extension 0 199,000 178,387 The Veterans sanitary sewer line extension consists of approximately 1400 feet of deep sewer line and manholes. This line will be extended from the limits of Canterbury Park subdivision to the limits of the Natatorium site to serve that project. Engineers estimate from Sanitary Sewer Model. Map attached(#1). City Project: Drainage O'Day Drainage Phase II 0 195,000 0 Materials to complete a project that Public Works has partially funded. The funds available will complete the major tie-in to Hickory Slough and continue south past Country Meadows Mobile Home community. City crews plan to complete this project to Pitch, Putt&Play with these CDBG funds. Materials include pipe,stabilized sand, saw cut&replace concrete. Map attached (#2). City Project: Sidewalk Veterans Sidewalk Connectivity 0 112,000 0 This sidewalk will connect Westwood, Cabot Cove and Cobblestone subdivisions to Glenda Dawson High School and Pearland Junior High South along the west side of Veterans. Box culverts at Veterans and Springfield ditch will have to be extended to the west to accommodate this project. Map attached(#3). 1500 feet of 6 ft sidewalk, $54,000. Culvert extension,20 ft of dual 7 ft x 5 ft box culvert,two junction boxes for 36"culvert tie-ins, stabilized sand, $47,000. Engineering&Survey for BDD4 approval,$11,000. Residents may fax their comments to the City at (281) 652-1707 or MKP Consulting at (281) 812-7705. 4 CDBG Program Background The national objective of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for ;ow and moderate-income persons. Not less than 70% of CDBG funds must be used for activities that benefit low and moderate-income persons. CDBG goals include: . 1. - ° Improving the urban,environment in low and moderate income areas; 2. Eliminating blighting influences, and the deterioration of property, neighborhoods and public facilities in low and moderate-income areas; and 3. Ensuring decent,safe,sanitary housing for low and moderate-income residents. Eligible activities include but are .not limited to: public facility construction,and improvements; handicapped accessibility; operational funding for non-profit agencies servicing primarily low income persons; rehabilitation of c vner-occupied housing; housing development assistance, 1 enforcement of City. codes; clears ce.land demolition; .infrastructure improvements; business development and job creation activites.
