MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON MAY 4, 1999, AT 7:00 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL
CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:

PURPOSE OF THE MEETING:
COUNCIL ACTION - RESOLUTION NO. 99-42 - A RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CITY GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN THE
CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, ON MAY 1, 1999.
Councilmember Berger made the motion, seconded by CouncilmemberTetens, to approve
Resolution No. R99-42.
Councilmember Berger read the results of the election into the record.

COUNCIL ACTION - ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION TO NEWLY
ELECTED OFFICIALS.
Mayor Reid issued Larry Wilkins and his Certificate of Election.
COUNCIL ACTION - ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE TO NEWLY ELECTED
OFFICIALS.
Brazoria County Judge, John Willy, administered the Oath of Office to Tom Reid for Mayor
and to Larry Wilkins for Council Position Number 3.
COUNCIL ACTION - ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO -TEM.
Mayor Pro -Tem Wilkins made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Tetens, to
nominate Councilmember Bill Berger to serve as Mayor Pro -Tem.
Voting "Aye" Councilmembers Beckman, Tetens, Wilkins, and Seeger.
Voting "No" None.
Voting "Abstain" Councilmember Berger.
Motion Passed 4 to 0, with 1 abstention.

The special meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
