1996-10-28 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON OCTOBER 28,1996, AT 6:30 P. M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The hearing was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Councilmember/Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Richardson Councilmember Richard Tetens Councilmember Kevin Cole Councilmember Helen Beckman Councilmember Larry Wilkins City Manager Paul Grohman City Attorney Amy McCullough City Secretary Yolanda Benitez Others in attendance: Assistant City Manager Richard Burdine; and City Engineer John Hargrove. PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: To consider the proposed annexation of 445 acres, more or less, located in F.B. Drake Survey, Abstract No. 506; John W. Maxcy Survey, Abstract No. 721; H.T.&B. RR Co. Survey, Abstract No. 309 of Brazoria County, Texas. NUMBER SIGNING ATTENDANCE ROSTER: 0 Mayor Reid outlined the procedures to be followed in conducting the public hearing. STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN Assistant City Manager Richard Burdine reviewed a map of the proposed annexation area. City Manager Grohman pointed out that the area is surrounded by the Silverlake MUD's and the Southdown MOD's. He also noted that this area is currently being serviced with Fire and Ambulance, and garbage pick-up will be handled by Waste Management. CITIZEN COMMENTS: None COUNCIL/STAFF DISCUSSION: Councilmember Richardson requested clarification with regard to "in -city" MUD's. City Manager Grohman stated that there are the same as "out of city" MUD's, but they are in the city limits. Assistant City Manager Burdine provided additional clarification with regard to the "in -city" MUD's. ADJOURNMENT The hearing adjourned at 6:50 P. M.
