1999-01-18 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTES15 MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JANUARY 18,1999, AT 6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Mayor Pro -Tem Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember City Manager City Attorney City Secretary Tom Reid Larry Wilkins Helen Beckman Richard Tetens William Berger Klaus Seeger Glen Erwin Darrin Coker Young Lorfing Others in attendance: Sr. Project Manager Alan Mueller; Planning and Development Director Dennis Smith; City Engineer John Hargrove; Assistant Chief of Police Chris Doyle; Assistant City Engineer Andy Gallagher and Assistant City Attorney Nghiem Doan. PROPOSED ANNEXATION (PINE HOLLOW SECTION 2 & 3) To consider the proposed annexation of approximately 2.0093 acres of land in the Perry and Austin League, Abstract 111, Brazoria County, Texas(Pine Hollow Section 2 & 3) as requested by Houston Pine Hollow Associates, LTD., owner. STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN Sr. Project Manager, Alan Mueller, presented the location of the proposed area to be annexed. Mr. Mueller stated that this is a small comer of land consisting of approximately 2.0097 acres, and through this annexation all of the Pine Hollow Subdivision will be within the city limits. This annexation has been petitioned by the property owner. Therefore, it is voluntary annexation. He further informed Council that the standard Service Plan has beenpreparedto have all of the normal city services for this property. The Service Plan is on file with the City Secretary, and is available to the public for review or inspection. This is the second of two required public hearings. It has been advertised in the Pearland Reporter News in accordance with state law. The first reading of the ordinance for this annexation is on February 8, 1999 and second and final reading on February 22, 1999. Page 1 of 2 - 1/18/1999 76 CITIZEN COMMENTS None. COUNCIUSTAFF DISCUSSION Councilmember Tetens stated that this annexation is logical and should be done and he supports it. Mayor Pro -Tem Wilkins stated that he concurs with Councilmember Tetens.
