REQUEST OF MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM GROTE, OWNERS, FOR AN
AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE TO
ALLOW RATITES (EMUS) TO BE RAISED IN AN R-1, SINGLE FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT, ON THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY, TO -
WIT:
A 2.0025 acre tract of land out of Lot 92 of the George W.
Jenkins Subdivision in the W.D.C. Hall League, Abstract 70,
Brazoria County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 79, Page 616 of
the Deed Records of Brazoria County, Texas (1510 Hastings-
Friendswood Road).
PERSONS SPEAKING FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST:
1. Mr. and Mrs. William Grote, 1510 Hastings-Friendswood Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Grote explained they would like to raise emus on
their property and had pictures of the site and drawings of
how the pens would be laid out.
PERSONS SPEAKING AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST: NONE
QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD: NONE
Mayor Coppinger explained the procedure for zoning hearings and
Emil Beltz, Chairman of Planning and Zoning, announced the
Commission would meet in the second floor conference room after the
adjournment of the hearing.
