1994-07-18 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JULY 18, 1994, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS The hearing was called to order with the following present: Mayor Mayor Pro Tem/Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember City Manager Interim City Attorney City Secretary C. V. Coppinger David Smith D. A. Miller Randy Weber Paul Grohman Barry Abrams Pat Jones Others in attendance: Division Director Richard Burdine, City Engineer John Hargrove, and Chief of Police Mike Hogg. Absent from the hearing: Councilmembers Tetens and Richardson. PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF 72.23 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED SOUTH OF WEST OAKS SUBDIVISION. NUMBER OF PERSONS SIGNING ATTENDANCE ROSTER: 0 STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN: Division Director Burdine used the overhead projector to show the area proposed to be annexed. Mr. Burdine discussed the proposed service plan, noting the area will be developed like the existing West Oaks Subdivision. Copies of the service plan are available through the City Secretary's office, Mr. Burdine informed. Council discussed services to the area and detention facilities. It was stated the area will contain approximately 200-300 homes and will, most likely, be zoned R-2 with homes in the $100-140,000 price range.
