Mayor Pro -Tem John Kegley, Aldermen Thomas P. Alexander, Victor A Nolen, Steven A. Shukanes, Jr., Gene E. Sanders, and City Secretary W. A. McClellan.., Guests: William C. Walsh, City Engineer, Lloyd J. Yost, Bob Burnes, J. B. Watts, Lee,Plyer, Jake Jamison, David L. i Smith, Jr., James G. Young, Charles t. Newman, representing Pearland Sportsman Club, Van J. All Aldermen voted aye" no "noes." Motion carried. Motion made by Shukanes and secondeddby Nolen that the following salaries and invoices be paid. All Aldermen voted "ayes' with no "noes." Yost of Drainage District No. 4, reported he and other interested parties were working on the Clear Creek channel adjacent to,our sewage plant site No. 3. Motion made by Shukanes and seconded by Nolen that -pub- lication of notice be given that City Council will hold a public hearing on our budget for the year 1964-1965 on their regular meeting nighty August 20, 1964. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes.)' Motion. carried. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Shukanes that Mr. Homer Wolf, Mr. Nonny Walker, and Mr. M. 0. Knapp be appointed as members of th.e,equalization board with Mr-, Frank Lee as alternate. That meetingsbe held on August 21st., 24t];L. '26t4.1 28th., and 31st.; and any special meeting held at their discression. All Aldermen voted "aye" no"noes." Meilen carried. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Alexander that the City Engineer be instructed to check into the feas- ibility of installing a water line North on Highway 35 to the American Rice Growers Dryer and others in the area. All Aldermen voted "aye" no"noes." Motion carried. and se nde b Allexander Motion made by Nolen that ��tyouicil grant a temporary permit to the Pearland Sportmans Club with a 30 day cancellation clause in the event complaints or a development condition commands rejection of the permit A}dermen Nolen, Alexander and Shukanes voted "aye" with Alderman Sanders and Kegley abstaining, Motion Carried. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Shukanes that the city accept the sum of $6,125.27 as recommended by engineer Walsh as being due Mr. Frank Barringer, developer of Willow Chest Subdivision; for the off-site water & sewer service lines, along with the difference of oversizing other lines, at the request of the city together with appurtenances; and the city have two weeks time to de- termine in which manner payment will be made. All Aldermen voted "aye"eno "noes." Peden carried. Mayor Pro-Tem;Kegley appointed-Shukanes and Nolen�to work out an adequate plan for financing this project. Motion made.by Sanders and seconded by Shukanes that the' sum of $112.00 be paid: to Thomas D. Heaney Engineers for their wrk in prepairing field notes for easement, and changi7plans on off-site improvements for the Willow - crest Subdivision water and sewer service lines.. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes." Motion carried. /Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Shukanes that the City accept the sum of $3,417.74, as recommended by engineer Walsh as being due Sleepy Hollow Estates, for the difference in oust of 6" and 8" water lines and ptppurte-nances as. requested by the city. That the City have two weeks time to determine in what manner Payment will be made. All Aldermen voted "aye" no ;"noes. '.,, Motion carried. Mayor Pro -Tem Kegley appointed Shukanes and Nolen to work out an adequate plan for financing this project. i David L. Smith, Jr. presented a sewer profile for -Nottingham Subdivision, receipt of which is acknowledged this date. 3 I Alderman Gene E. Sanders presented his written resignation, ( copy `attached) to the City Council. MotIo n made by Alexander and seconded by Nolen that action on this request be tabled for a legal opinion on part of the terminolog-y. Aldermen Shukanes, Nolen, Alexander and Kegley voted "aye," Alderman Sanders' voted' "no." The ",ayes" being in majority. the motion' carried.' The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.
