1964-06-18 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES--The regular .meeting of the City of Pearland City Council was held on Thursday Night, June 16, 1964s at the City Hall with the following City Officials kand guests present. Mayor E. T. Gibbons, Aldermen Victor A. Nolen, Thomas P. Alexander, John G. Kegley and Gene E. Sanders. I Guests: Frank Barringer, C. Cunningham, Magdalene Kimberlin, David L. Smith, Jr., William C. Walsh, E. -E. -Bratton, Barbara Bratton, Orlen O'Day, John Rainey, E. G. Enriquez and W. A. McClellan, Secretary. Minutes of the regular meeting held on June 11, 1964, read and approved,, also minutes of meeting June 12, 1964- A motion made by Kegley on behalf of the Sign. and -Light Commit_tbe that the sum of $14.46 be- approved and pgid to David L'. Smith, Jr., for the removal of the School Zone Signs from the streets and storing them during the snhool vacation. Seconded by Nolen. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes." Motion carried. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Kegley that the following salaries and invoices be paid. All Aldermen voted "aye"- "noes." Motion.carried. Cook (Salary June 15 through June 19, 1964) 44.44 $ 212.38 Mrs. Kimberlin was recognized and stated that several families living on Glenda in Cleer Creek Estate Subdivision would appreciate the City Council putting forth every effort possible to improve the street in front of her home at the earliest possible date. This problem was referred to the Street Committee for study and recommendation. " E. E. Bratton was next recognized and stated that people living in C1eer Creek Estates had asked him to express their appreciation for the work the City, in cooperation with the Drainage District and County Commissioners, had done in their addition on streets. He presented his daughter Barbara, a member of the Girl Scouts, who is studying for the Citizenship Award.' He further explained that attendance at a Council meeting was one of the requirements. Council acknowledged her presence. 50 Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Alexander that City Engineer, Walsh be authorized to purchase 4,000 water and sewer diagrams for the sum of approximately $205.00. Diagrams to be mailed along with other items to the public concerning the Bond Election. All Aldermen voted,"aye" po "noes': Motion carried.
