Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Sanders the the following
invoices and salaries for the City of Pearland - Operating Account,
and the City of Pearland, Water & Sewer Department be ~aid, except

Alderman Sanders stated the-Bridge & Street Committee, composed
of Sanders and Shukanes,.made a t~ur of the city streets and at
their request forme~ Alderman David L. Smith, Jr..aCcompanied
them and rendered very v~luable xervice.. . .
The fpllowing is their report:.
1. Patch work on Nykawa Road and the old AlvinRoad next
to the school ball park.

~he Drainage Committee of Alexander and Kegl~y. r~eccmme~ded the
following Joint participation projects listed below but not
necessarily i~ .order, with Drainage District No. ~ for the year
196~ as indicated on ~ plat of. the City ~ate~ May 28, 196~.
Storm s.ewer on ~ighway 518 past .curve.
Storm sewer and curb, Broad'way to Austin.
Storm s~wer to Mary's.
Curb Highway 35 to drainage ditch.
Curb and sewer past Abbott's 'Grill.
Storm sewer 300' pas~ curb.
Culverts in old section where needed.
Motion made by 8hukanes and seconded byNolen that 0ity Council
adopt the recommendations of the Drainage Committee. All Aldermen
voted "aye" no "noes~

The Street Lights Committee of Nolen and Kegley made the following
report. =
1. A large light be; placed ~t Walmat & 518,
2. A large light be placed at 518 and E. Ci'rcle~
3- A large light be placed at 518 and Regal Oaks~ ' -

Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Sh~es that City "C'0uncil
adopt the above report. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes."
Motion c~ried.
Motion made by Keg!ey and seconded by ~Nelen that Sign~-~Comittee
proceed with proper signs warning motorists of pedestrian cross
walk on Hi~way 35 at Morgan Company. All Aldemen voted "aye"
no "noes."
Mr. A. H. Casey was recognized and spoke about his application
for a Policeman's Job.
Motion made by Sanders and seconded by Nolen that Sleepy Hollow
Subdivision be approved on a final plat, subject to formal
agreement covering letter of May 27, 196~, and approval on bond,
by City Attorney. All aldermen voted "aye"=no "noes."
Motion carried.
Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Shukanes that Dr. Rau be
appointed as Health Officer until April 1966. All Aldermen
voted "aye" ~o "noes~
Motion carried.
Motion made by Kegley and seconded by ShUkanes that Ordinance No.
89 be adopted. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes~
Motion carried.
0~Cinance No. 89 providing for the approval of the agreement dated
Au~ast 23, 1963, between the State of Texas and the City of Pear-
land for the installation of Highway T~affic signal, flashing
beacon, with safety lighting at the intersection of State Eigh-
way 35 and Brookside Boad was approved by City 0~uncil and
executed by~ City Attorney and Mayor Qibbona. (Exhibits on file
· State Highway Department file.).
David L. Smith, Jr. presented his final plat (li~en) for Sher-
wood Subdivision. Motion madeI by Keg~'ey and *seconded, by Nolen,
that final plat be approved, subject to 20' alleyway between
-commercial and residential lots as shown' on plat, +also' subject
to Approval of sewer lines'~ by Mr. Raines, am independent
Engineer, also subject to Surety Bond satisfactory to City
Attorney and City Engineer. Alderman Nolen, Kegley, Sh~kanes.
and Sanders voted "aye"no "noes."

After due discussion between Mr.. C.' E. Newman of th~ Pearlan&
Garage and City Councilmen concerning the Junk Yard 0rdinanoe.
Motion made by Sanders and seconded by Nolen that Mayor Gibbons
and City Attorney Jack Harrison make an on-sit~ inspection of
their place to determine. if it falls under the Jurisdiction
