1964-05-21 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES34 The regular meeting of the City of Pearland City Council was held on Thursday Night, May 21, 1964, at the City Ball, 14429 Texas Avenue, with the following City Officials and Guests present. Mayor E. T. Gibbons, Councilmen Victor A. Nolen, John G. Kegley, Thomas P. Alexander, Gene E. Sanders and Steven A. Shukanes, Jr. Guests: W. A. McClellan, Office Manager, William C. Walsh, City Engineer, Frank Barringer, David L. Smtt#; Jr., John Rainey., Orlen OfDay. Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 14, 1964 and the special meeting held on May 169 19640 read and approved. Motion made by Kegley and seconded by Shukanes that the following' invoices and salaries for the City of Pearland, Water and Sewer Department and the City,of Pearland Operating Accounts and the Construction Fund be approved and paid. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Sanders that the crossing at Walnut and Old Alvin Road be made a 4 Way Stop crossing. All Aldermen voted "aye" with no "noes." Motion carried. Motion made by Shukanes=and seconded by Sanders that the'City pay the=Bay Conerety Products Company -Contract in.full as soon as funds due from Pearland Investment Company are received. Aldermen Kegley, Shukanes, Nolen and Sanders voted "aye," Alexander voted "no"; ayes being in majority the Motion carried. David L. Smith, Jr. filed the Sanitary Sewer Plat for Sherwood Subdivision for Council review and action. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Kegley that the first Section of West Lea Subdivision be approved; subject to the. Drainage Commissioners signing, also signature of the duly appointed Trustee. All Aldermen voted "aye" with no "noes", Motion carried. Motion made by Alexander and seconded by Nolen that the City pay for Lots 11, 12, & 13 and a 501 strip adjacent to Lots 11 through 19 in Block 14 from the City of Pearland, Operating Account. Check in the amount of $4,800.00 to be made payable to the Community Title Company. All Aldermen voted "aye with no'"noes". L. Marquess be contacted about serving as Auditor and assist in setting up new records. All Aldermen voted "aye" with no' "noes". Motion carried. Bids were opened for 1701 of 6" Transite Pipe needed for the Gulf Oil Company station service line. Pearland Lumber Company bid $1.52 per lineal foot. Orlen O'Day bid $1.60 per foot. Motion made by Nolen and seconded by Shukanes that Pearland Lumber Company be given the order. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes". Motion carried. Motion made by Alexander and seconded by Kegley that City request bids for repair parts for 3" and 6" transit lines. All Aldermen voted "aye" no "noes". Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.
