--•A special meeting of the Pearland City;Couneil was held on
=April 6, 1964, at the -City Full, 14429 Texas Avenue„ with the
following City Officials and guests present:
Mayor E. T. Gibbons, Councilmen John Kegley, David L. Smith, Jr.,,
Gene E. Sanders, Tom Alexander and Victor Nolen.
Guests: David A. Stokes, D. W. Corbitt, Mrs, Gene"Remy, Sr.,
Gene P. Remy, Sr., John D. Williams, Jr., Robert C. Pascoe.
Mayor Gibbons explained that the purpose of the meeting was
to discuss Mr. Rosets proposed mobi3e trailer park immediately
adjacent to Regency Park. A petition was read by the Mayor
from the citizens of Regency Park expressing deep concern and
opposition to the proposed trailer park. Forty-four persons
had affixed their signature to the petition.
Mr. Rose discussed his plans for developing his mobil trailer
pVk_and expressed the position that his project would be
qor-mieasurate with the ordinance.
11P, D$v:W-Stokes expressed the following objections to the
project on behalf of the Regency Park Civic Club:
'k.
1. Traffic problems.
2. Transient eople.
Devaluate lie property in this area.
Overload to water and sewer facilities of
Regency Park.
The .umber of trailer sites in the park are 21Lx. A leongthly
discussion evolved and Mr. Rose was advisedith&tt the City
Council was opposed to a trailer park at the proposed location.
If he chooses to develop as a permanent housing development;
Mr. Rose can expect all help from the Council.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 P. M.
